Old Business

Rifle Range Extension: A contract has been issued to Ram Land Clearing to do the rifle range extension. Work is scheduled to begin on October 3, 2016. The ranges will be closed while the contractors are there. (The pistol ranges should be open on Saturdays and Sundays.) Originally, Ram was to do the prep work for the firing line shelter first, but it was realized during the discussion, that the schedule for materials for the firing line shelter puts its delivery toward the end of the range construction. Jim Samsel will contact Ram and have them re-schedule the shelter prep to the end.

The shelter will be ordered from Armour Steel on Friday, September 30 by Chuck Novak. Production of materials will take approximately three weeks plus additional time depending on how many jobs are ahead of ours. George Laverick will act as a central point of contact between the shelter contractor and the club; he will contact other officers as needed.

Armour Metals has to be paid for the materials at time of ordering. They recommend and arrange for the sub-contractors, but we have to separately pay the subcontractors. When materials are delivered, the delivery driver has to be paid for the delivery. Also, the concrete contractor and erector have to be paid after completion of their work. One of the officers will need to be at the range to make each payment. This will be coordinated between George Laverick, Roger Ward, and Jim Samsel.

Siren Access: George Laverick test the replacement siren sensor on the gate and it is functional.

New Business

Chuck Novak had planned to schedule a youth weekend at the range in October, but because of the range closure for construction he will be delaying that until sometime in November.

George Laverick pointed out that new members joining now will have their memberships valid through 2017. Normally, we do not do that until November, but because the range is effectively closed for most of October this is only fair.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:01PM.

The next Executive Committee meeting will be at 7:00PM on October 25 , 2016 at the ADPS Indoor Range, 240 Dupont Drive, Aiken, SC.

Respectfully submitted,

George Laverick

ALL RANGES ARE CLOSED ON WEEKDAYS UNTIL CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED. PISTOL RANGES ONLY WILL BE OPEN ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH THE CONTRACTORS.
