Nov. 22, 2015 Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Vice President, Joe Podesta. Officers present were Joe Podesta, Kevin Lilly, David Nichols, and George Laverick. Eight members were present in addition to the officers.

The minutes of the September 27, 2015 Executive Committee meeting were read by George Laverick and were accepted as read.

Treasurer's Report

The Treasurer was not present so no report was available.

Range Report

David Nichols said he would try to get additional 1x2s out to the range sometime in the coming week.

Joe Podesta reported that he took the brass from the indoor range to the recycling center.

Armorer's Report

Kevin Lilly reported no change to the status of the Club's firearms.

Old Business

Plate Rack: George Laverick presented a design for a baffle structure for the plate rack to be built from pressure treated lumber. Estimated materials cost is about $1100.00. He also has three volunteers to help him erect it, but will probably need more volunteers. The Executive Committee passed a motion authorizing George to procure the materials.

Range Officers: The Range Officer program appears to be working. Those Range Officers who have actively participated have been notified that they are not required to pay dues for 2016.

Fence: Jim Samsel is till waiting for the leaves to fall to provide visibilty for marking the fence line.

ADPS: Joe Podesta made a motion that we offer free use of the left pistol range and/or rifle range for ADPS training. We would require advance scheduling so that we could notify the members. The motion was passed. Joe will draft a letter to ADPS for review by the Executive Committee.

FONRA Banquet: The firm date for the FONRA banquet is March 18, 2016 at USC-Aiken Convocation Center.

New Business

Brass: One of the members present recommended that the club provide a rake to clean up brass (including .22) in front of the firing lines. It would require a fairly close-tined rake to pick up .22 brass. No action was taken, but the subject will be considered further.

Election of Officers: The Executive Committee proposes the following slate for next years elections:

President - Jim Samsel

Vice President - Joe Podesta

Secretary - George Laverick

Treasurer - Roger Ward

Armorer - Kevin Lilly

Executive Officer - Jim Shaver

Members are encouraged to participate in running the Club. Any member who would like to serve on the Executive Committee is invited to contact the Secretary to have their name added to the slate prior to the elections at the January meeting. Please note, if you submit someone's name, they must be willing to serve.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25PM.

Renewal notices have been emailed to members. If you did not receive yours, please contact the Secretary. Remember, no renewals will be accepted without a passport style picture for your new membership card (if your picture is on file with the Club, you do NOT need another one). I can take your picture then or at the next Executive Committee meeting. You can also get pictures taken at any CVS or Walgreens (for a price). You can also scan the picture on your Drivers License/CWP/passport and email it to me as a jpeg file.

I am pre-building the frame for the plate rack baffle, then will disassemble it for transport to the range. I will need help to erect it at the range. Let me know if you are willing to help erect it, and I will notify you when I am able to schedule the work.

The next Executive Committee meeting will be at 7:00PM on December , 27 2015 at the ADPS Indoor Range, 240 Dupont Drive, Aiken, SC.

Respectfully submitted,

George Laverick
