General Discussions

Discussions about holes in roof system at rifle range cover that was discussed last month. No additional information.

Member brought attention about range in New York that was closed following complaint from neighbor about stray rounds escaping range. (Worchester Police Range?)

Discussion about 300 yard range being tabled for now, fence at roadway being higher priority at this time. Possibility of range signs being placed on fence following completion of installation.

Jim Samsel noticed For Sale Sign on triangle during visit the day of the meeting.

Multiple questions about leaving messes at range. Discussion to continue by email, e.g., Does card reader have capability to pinpoint date, time, etc. of occupants for observed times? Short answer, YES!

Further information from Secretary: It is possible to determine what member's keycard was used to enter/leave the range at a given date/time. However, there is no way of knowing if the member brings guests.

It was asked if possible to replace orange netting for target placement on the Rifle Range? Possible source for netting needed. Overall it has held up well to the placement and environment it was used for.

Further information from Secretary: There should be more of the orange netting in the Connex. If not, I have some at home (I supplied it last time). We will need a couple 4x4 posts (maybe use two of the mailbox sockets in the connex to hold the posts?).

A work day will probably be scheduled at the range once the weather cools down.

A member has completed NRA Range Safety Officer Training and offered to assist where and when needed. Jim Samsel will contact the City Range officer for orientation.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:47. PM.

The next Executive Committee meeting will be held August 24, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the ADPS Indoor Range, 240 Dupont Dr., Aiken.

Respectfully submitted,

Kevin Lilly, Armorer

George Laverick, Secretary
