December 15, 2013 Executive Committee Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President, Jim Samsel. Officers present were Jim Samsel, Joe Podesta, George Laverick, Roger Ward, Kevin Lilly, and David Nichols.
Minutes of the November 24, 2013 meeting were read by George Laverick, and were accepted as read.
The Treasurers report was given by Roger Ward.
David Nichols reported the range to be in good condition.
A Range Committee meeting will be held with the concerned neighbor to inform him of the results of sound testing and our plans to mediate noise levels. If he agrees, then work can proceed on the 300 yard range. If not, alternative actions will be considered. One possibility would be extension of the current 100 yard range to 200 yards.
Jim Samsel has presented the City with a letter proposing changes to our agreement for use of the indoor range. No official response has been received at this time.
George Laverick presented the proposed 2014 schedule for Small Bore Silhouette Rifle matches. The schedule was unanimously approved.
Election of officers takes place at the January meeting. Since there have been no nominations from the membership, the current officers constitute that slate of candidates. Write-in votes from the members are acceptable, provided that the write-in candidate is a member of the club in good standing, a member of the NRA, and is willing to serve.
The January meeting is the Annual Meeting of the membership and election of officers. All members are urged to attend. If you can't attend, please be sure to return your Ballot (they were sent out to all active members for 2014). If you did not receive a ballot, please contact the club Secretary.
Because of the quorum requirements of our bylaws, the status of the Executive Committee is in limbo if not enough of our members vote.
The meeting will be held at the ADPS Indoor Range located at 240 Dupont Drive in Aiken at 7:00 PM on January 26, 2014.
George Laverick, Secretary
