October 27, 2013 Executive Committee Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President, Jim Samsel. Officers present were Jim Samsel, Joe Podesta, George Laverick, Kevin Lilly, and Roger Ward. Two members were also present.
Minutes of the September 22, 2013 meeting were read by George Laverick, and were accepted as read. George also reported that he had changed the timing on the gate so that the “stay open” time is reduced from 30 seconds to about 20 seconds.
The Treasurer's report was given by Roger Ward.
The Executive Officer was absent so no range report was given.
Joe Pdesta reported that Steve Stamper will have the data ready from the sound tests that were performed by the end of the week following the meeting. A meeting of the Range Committee will be scheduled to review the data. Unofficially, the noise level from the proposed range is about 20 db higher in the direction of Mark Jackson's house. Further discussion of options ensued, but no action was taken.
The target stand still need to be marked, and 1x2 slats need to be procured to use with the stands.
Seven new members were accepted into the club. This brings our membership to 350 which is the maximum established by the Executive committee.
Kevin Lilly rported that a member had inquired whether or not the club was interested in selling any of the M1 Garands. The Executive Committee unanimously agreed that we are NOT intersted in selling any of the rifles.
Jim Samsel still needs to contact ADPS with regard to the new proposed agreement for use of the indoor range.
A discussion was held with regard to where to sell used brass.
Kevin Lilly has purchased sights and magazines for the club's .22 rifles. A motion was passed to reimburse Kevin for the purchases
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
The next Executive Committee meeting will be November 24, 2013 at 700 PM in the ADPS Indoor Range.
If you have not yet sent in your membership renewal for 2014, now would be a good time. If you have misplaced the Renewal Form, contact the club Secretary.
Election of officers will be coming up shortly. I f you would like to be an officer or know a member who would, contact any of the current officers to get on the ballot.
Do not try to get multiple vehicles through the gate at the range on a single card swipe as you risk damaging your vehicle. Wait until the gate closes then use your keycoard to re-open it.
George Laverick, Secretary
